COMMUNITY LIVES HERE 
 
Canmore Community Housing Corporation (CCHC) is pleased to announce that it has awarded the development of the Old Day Care Lands (ODCL) to Distinctive Homes, working in partnership with Marshall Tittemore Architects.   
  
 
Located at the corner of 17th Street and 11th Avenue, the ODCL are 1.01HA of now residential land that were recently subdivided from the existing Municipal Reserve (MR) parcel. Council took this initiative to further its commitment towards its number one priority, affordable housing.
 
UNIT TYPES
The successful design will incorporate 49 units through a mix of Townhouse (17), Stacked Townhouse (24) and Duplex (8) living, primarily targeted at families. The successful design will include: 6 two-bedroom units at 980 square feet; 6 two-bedroom units at 1114 square feet; with the balance of the units being three bedroom and ranging in size from 1303 to 1440 square feet.   
 
UNIT PRICING
Pricing has yet to be finalized and is subject to change, however sales prices are anticipated to be within the following range:
  • Two Bedrooms, 980 to 1114 square feet (12):  starting in the $280,000's
  • Three Bedroom,  1303  to 1440 square feet (37):  starting in the $370,000's
TIMELINE
CCHC is anticipating, subject to development permit approval, beginning construction in August of 2017 and a tentative 18 month construction schedule to completion is being forecast. The phasing in of the unit schedule will be finalized in the coming months.
 
  
TAKE A PEEK!
CCHC and the proponent will be holding an Open House to showcase the unit layouts for all residents to see on Thursday June 22nd, from 6 - 8 p.m., at the St. Michael's Anglican Church Hall. Further details on the sales process and finalized pricing will be made available in the Fall of 2017.
